Machine Control helps speed thermal deburring.

Press Release Summary:

Based on industrial PC with integrated soft PLC, control for Rexroth P80 and P350 thermal deburring systems is used in combination with proportional gas regulation. Production data for machine can be displayed and evaluated, and with graphical process visualization, control enables users to track current process progression on 15 in. color display. Information and switching states of gas valves are displayed graphically and support technicians during service calls.

New Rexroth Control and Proportional Gas Regulation Make Thermal Deburring Faster and More Reliable

The new Rexroth control in combination with proportional gas regulation makes thermal deburring faster, more reliable, and more reproducible. A powerful industrial PC with integrated soft PLC to take over control functions for the system is at the core of the new control for the Rexroth P80 and P350 thermal deburring systems. The production data for the machine can be displayed and evaluated. Thanks to graphical process visualization, users can track current process progression on a 15" color display. Important information and the switching states of the gas valves are displayed graphically and support technicians during service calls.

Process parameters for processing various workpieces are managed in a database. During change-over procedures, this data can be accessed in the control - manual change-over of mechanical components is no longer required. The change-over process is substantially shorter and leads to higher process reliability and reproducibility of the deburring results.

Proportional gas regulation reduces the cycle time for one processing cycle by up to 25% and ensures that the deburring chamber is filled with the same amount of gas mixture during each processing cycle. This leads to consistent deburring results and significantly improves the deburring process.

The new machine control is based on Rexroth's decades-long experience with this process, which is suitable for deburring workpieces made from oxidizing materials such as steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Above all, thermal deburring systems remove internal and external burrs on complexly machined workpieces in one process step. This is achieved by igniting a gas mixture, which results in a short-term high temperature of approximately 3000°C.
