Original Press Release:

6" x 48" Belt & Edge Milling Machine, Model 4500

Two machines in one. That's what you will get with Wilton's new combination 6"x48" belt and edge milling machine, model 4500. This medium to heavy duty machine will sand, grind, surface finish, deburr, chamfer and bevel.

This machine is constructed of heavy duty cast iron for a smoother operation and less vibration. The heavy duty large cast iron ribbed work tables and table trunions can handle the heaviest of work pieces. The table tilts 45 degrees out and 20 degrees in for all angle operations. The cast iron v-table tilts allowing the operator to make angle cuts of 15, 30, and 45 degrees. This unique v-table design assures consistent edge quality and greater accuracy. In addition to all this, the heavy duty one piece steel stand with anti-vibratory adjustable motor mounts give the model 4500 greater rigidity and greater efficiency while lowering your maintenance costs.

Keeping operator safety and convenience in mind, this belt and edge milling machine has a platen which can be adjusted or removed for free hand finishing and shaping of odd shapes or cylindrical parts. In addition, the belt head can be positioned vertically, horizontally, or any angle in between to allow for flat, miter, and contour finishing. The adjustment is fast and easy - proving greater productivity and versatility.

Delivering accurate finishes on a repetitive basis, the 3" milling cutter head with eight carbide inserts is a standard feature which provides a mill finish on your work piece. In addition, the bearings are spaced on the drive shaft so there is a bearing on each side of the pulley, for greater stability and support while improving your grinding and finishing performance.

Wilton's combination belt and edge milling machine provides a highly versatile unit which can manage work pieces from small pieces to large sections, quickly and easily for the operator.
