New Aremcolox 502-1100 Machinable Ceramic Now Available

SUMMARY

Aremcolox(TM) 502-1100, a new low cost, machinable alumino-silicate ceramic produced by Aremco Products, Inc., is now available for producing electrical and thermal insulators, feed-thrus, furnace carriers, brazing fixtures, welding shields, soldering fixtures, and burner nozzles used in applications to 2100 °F (1150 °C).

Aremcolox(TM) 502-1100 is an advanced, alumino-silicate, machinable ceramic ideal for producing reliable, low cost ceramic parts for applications to 2100 °F (1150 °C).

Aremcolox(TM) 502-1100 demonstrates exceptional mechanical, electrical and thermal properties including a compressive strength of 25 Kpsi, dielectric strength of 100 volts per mil, and thermal conductivity of 9.0 Btu-in/hr-ft²-°F. Its coefficient of thermal expansion is 2.5 in/in/°F x 10-6, making it ideal for thermal shock applications.

Aremcolox(TM) 502-1100 can be used in oxidizing, reducing or vacuum atmospheres. It will not outgas in ultra high vacuum and does not react with most molten metals, salts and acids.

Aremcolox(TM) 502-1100 is machined easily using conventional tooling, and after a simple firing procedure, it is fully dense and resistant to 2100 °F (1150 °C). Stock sizes include plates from 1/4" to 1" thick; rods from 1/4" to 7" diameter; and bars from 1" x 1" to 4" x 4". Aremco also fabricates parts to customer prints.
