MAC Panel Re-Introduces LIF Connector and SCOUT XT

Improved flexibility and enhancements to be featured at Autotestcon 2010 September 13 to 16

High Point, NC - MAC Panel is set to re-introduce two products at the upcoming IEEE Autotestcon 2010 show September 13 - 16, 2010 in Orlando, FL. LIF (Low Insertion Force) pin and socket connectors; and SCOUT XT, a configurable Mass Interconnect system that provides a PCB or short wire interconnection for PXI based systems, will be re-introduced with key product enhancements that improve performance and provide cost and time-saving benefits.

LIF pin and socket connectors are a more rugged alternative to standard ZIF connectors. The pin and socket contacts used in the LIF connector provide excellent and consistent electrical characteristics. The robust design of the contacts yield an operational specification of more than 20,000 mating cycles. The LIF for PCB enhancement, being featured at the Autotestcon show, includes our new contact set developed to make PC Board attachment more efficient and allows LIF to be used in a broader spectrum of applications. Extended contact life assures reliability for aerospace, defense and commercial applications. In addition to product enhancements, MAC Panel will also be demonstrating "Connector Builder", a new website tool designed to help customers choose exactly the right connector.

SCOUT XT is a configurable Mass interconnect system that provides a PCB or short wire interconnection for your PXI based test system. Each PXI instrument is attached to a receiver connector module via a Direct Access Kit (DAK) adaptor, providing connectivity between the PXI instruments and the SCOUT receiver. All instruments are easily installed or removed through the front of the receiver, without disturbing the system wiring. In addition to the performance, cost and time saving benefits of SCOUT, the XT provides the ability to incorporate connections for other instrument platforms, such as GPIB, LXI or VXI. The XT provides an additional eight horizontally mounted TITAN connector module positions to the standard SCOUT receiver as well as a convenient custom I/O section that can be configured to meet specific application I/O requirements. This makes the SCOUT XT the ideal interface for high I/O multi-platform ATE designs.

MAC Panel is a manufacturer of mass interconnect solutions. Products include interconnect and interface systems and connectors available in various contact types including signal, power, coaxial, RF, pin & socket & hybrid combinations. Capabilities include contract manufacturing, wiring, engineering and testing in line with approved standards.
