Agilent Technologies' New LXI Attenuator/Switch Drivers Ease Design Validation, Automated Testing in A/D, Wireless Communications and Component Manufacturing

11713B/C Provide Flexibility, Ease of Integration into ATE Systems

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 10, 2007 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced new attenuator/switch drivers designed for both bench-top and ATE environments. These attenuator/switch drivers provide an intuitive graphical user interface and a variety of attenuation and switching options as well as front-panel and remote-control features for quick, easy design validation and automated testing.

Agilent's new attenuator/switch drivers are available in two models: 11713B and 11713C. The 11713B model drives a combination of two programmable attenuators and two SPDT switches, or up to 10 SPDT switches concurrently. Each unit has built-in GPIB connectivity. USB and LAN (LXI Class C) connectivity options are also available.

The new Agilent 11713C controls a combination of four programmable attenuators and four SPDT switches, or up to 20 SPDT switches concurrently. With an integrated tri-voltage selection of 5, 15 and 24 volts, along with an input port for user-defined voltage, the switch driver has the capability to drive most commercially available switches in the market. The 11713C features multiple connectivity options including GPIB, USB and LAN. It is fully compliant with LXI Class C specifications, giving users the flexibility to perform remote access and control via a Web browser or from the front panel.

Both models offer nine cable options, which enable a point-to-point connection from Agilent attenuators and switches to the attenuator/switch driver. A built-in counter helps to monitor the life cycles of the attenuators and switches in the test system. As a result, maintenance management is dramatically simplified.

"The new attenuator/switch drivers complete the broad range of attenuation and switching solutions that Agilent provides and is designed to be fully backward compatible with the highly successful legacy model 11713A," said Estee Tan, marketing manager of the Agilent Electronic Measurement Group's Test Accessory Operation. "Because it is simple to configure, and easy to use -- either as a standalone instrument or integrated into ATE systems -- customers now have a solution that addresses their growing need for short setup time."

U.S. Pricing and Availability
