Space-Saving, Hermetically Sealed LVDTs Built For Long Life, Easy Installation

Pennsauken, NJ, April 8, 2002. Macro Sensors introduces the HSDR 750 series - a new line of hermetically sealed DC-operated LVDTs built for linear motion control, machine tools, factory automation and general position measurement applications. These 3/4" (19mm) LVDTs utilize a radially-mounted electrical connector that permits through-bore operation with these significant results:

- The DC-operated LVDTs are accessible from both ends, permitting much better mechanical support and core guidance than with blind-bore hermetically sealed units.
- Open at both ends, the units can be easily cleaned of grit, dirt, dust or other contaminants for greater reliability and longer life.
- The radial connector makes the installed length of the HSDR position sensors at least 2" shorter than comparable units with an axially mounted connector for easier installation in tight spaces.

The HSDR 750 series operate from ±15 V DC and deliver a 0 to ±10V DC full scale output. They are rated for operation in temperature extremes from 30 to 160 deg F (0 to 70 deg C). The position sensors also feature high resolution, excellent repeatability typically better than 0.01% of full scale and non-linearity less than 0.25% of full range output. These features make the HSDR LVDTs ideal for all types of position measurements in automotive factories, forges and foundries, metal fabricating machinery, paper and plastic film plants, sawmills, process automation applications and all types of motion control systems.

Macro Sensors offers its new HSDR 750 series in standard full scale measurement ranges of ±0.050", ±0.10", ±0.25", ±0.50", ±1.00", ±2.00", ±3.00", ±4.00", ±5.00", ±7.50" and ±10.00". The company also supplies a full line of support electronics including OEM modules, DIN-rail mount power line- and DC-
operated signal conditioners and digital display and control instruments.

Pricing for the HSDR begins at $456 per unit, with volume discounts available.
