Luminator Technology Group Relocates Manufacturing of Apollo Video Technology Mobile Video Surveillance Solutions to Plano, Texas

Consolidated manufacturing supports more efficient product development and delivery to transit customers

Plano, Texas (PRWeb) June 10, 2019 -- Luminator Technology Group (Luminator) announces today a strategic move to relocate production of its Apollo Video Technology RoadRunner™ mobile video security solutions to Luminator’s headquarters in Plano, Texas. The move enables Luminator to deploy its high-quality manufacturing practices — which exceed ISO 9001 — to the production of the company’s existing and future lines of video security solutions.

The consolidation of manufacturing mass transit technology builds in further efficiencies for Luminator customers. The RoadRunner video technology will arrive at the OEM or transit agency ready-to-install and pre-configured to integrate with supporting INFOtransit solutions, including real-time passenger information. The move also improves repair service and delivery times to most locations, with nationwide dispatch managed out of Texas, a shipping source more centrally located to most destinations in North America.

Luminator has manufactured mass transit technologies in its Plano headquarters since 1964, including the company’s aerospace products for the commercial and military aircraft markets. Given the rigorous and strict manufacturing requirements of the aerospace industry, the Apollo Video line of RoadRunner solutions will benefit from the superior manufacturing, repair and test processes required for aerospace products under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards.

Luminator holds the following manufacturing, repair and lab certifications: Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations standard AS9100D; FAA Air Agency Certification; FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval; European Aviation Safety Agency Part 145 Approval; general requirements for International Organization for Standardization 17025-2005 for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

“We are always seeking improvements to provide our partners and customers state of the art technology, while maintaining Buy America compliance and offering a high level of U.S.-manufactured solutions,” said Roderick Jones, Luminator Technology Group President of Mass Transit North America. “By bringing Apollo Video’s manufacturing and repair services to Plano, we can provide a more integrated solution to our customers from one point of shipment, under the strict compliance regulations that come with aerospace manufacturing.”

To ensure a seamless transfer of manufacturing and quality assurance standards, the move is scheduled in a phased approach, with the Apollo Video production and delivery transition to begin July 1. Several key manufacturing employees from Apollo Video’s Bothell, Washington, headquarters will permanently relocate to Plano, supporting the transition and facilitating production training on the video product line.
