Lubrication Meters feature magnetically coupled transmitters.

Press Release Summary:

Offered in 3 models, Variable Area Lubrication Meters monitor rate of oil flow to keep gears, bearings, drills, and mills functional in processing industries. Vane-style SN Series measures flow from 0.5-20 gpm with ±5% FS accuracy, while MN Series handles flows from 10-70 gpm with FS accuracy of ±2%. Piston-style LL Series, suitable for flows from 0.25-20 gpm, provides ±5% FS accuracy. All utilize non-contact magnetically coupled transmitters instead of potentiometers that can wear out.

Universal Flow Monitors Announces Upgrade to Lubrication Flowmeter Line

Universal Flow Monitors announces the addition of a transmitter to its entire lubrication flowmeter line. The three variable area lubrication meters in the line now have compact, noncontact magnetically coupled transmitters instead of potentiometers that can easily wear out.

The three meters for circulating water and lubrication oil are the SN, MN and LL Series. They are designed to be more durable and to be less costly than the products that Universal Flow Monitors and its competitors have offered in the past, according to the company. The lube oil flowmeters are available with optional alarm switches for protecting machinery and minimizing downtime in event of flow failure.

The SN vane-style meters are designed for flows from 0.5 gallons per minute (GPM) to 20 GPM (2 LPM to 75 LPM). The full-scale readout accuracy is +/-5%. The MN vane-style meters are designed for flows from 10-70 GPM (40-250 LPM). The full-scale accuracy readout is +/-2%. The LL piston-style meters are designed for flows from 0.25 GPM to 20 GPM (1 LPM to 75 LPM). The full-scale readout accuracy is +/-5%.

All of these meters can be used when local flow indication and mechanical flow switching or 4-20 mA transmitters are desired. The meters are individually calibrated for fluids with the viscosity specified by the customer. The SN and MN Series can be calibrated with a viscosity of 600 centistokes (2900 SSU). LL meters are calibrated for fluids with a viscosity of up to 300 centistokes (1475 SSU).

These flowmeters are easy to install, operate and maintain. Mounting for the entire line is in-line and in any position. Straight pipe runs before or after this monitor are not required.

These meters monitor rate of oil flow to keep gears, bearings, drills and mills functional in the processing industries. The meters provide flow indication to assist in problem diagnosis and respond immediately if flow goes too low. Mechanical flow switches can be wired to trigger equipment shutdown for protection against machinery damage. Because they tend to be less viscosity sensitive and vibration resistant, LL Series meters are suggested for mining and ore processing applications.

The SN and MN Series of lubrication meters have a combination aluminum/nylon body. Internal moving parts are stainless steel. Seals are Viton®. The LL Series has an aluminum /polysulfone meter body, stainless steel and brass internal moving parts and Viton® seals.

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc., located in Hazel Park, Michigan, has manufactured flowmeters for a variety of industries for more than 20 years. The company can be reached at (248) 542-9635 or at www.flowmeters.com.
