Anderol's Polyguard 4100 Synthetic Lubricant Reduces Gear Maintenance and Replacement Costs

Non-Asphaltic Material Evaporates Twice as Fast as Competitive Product

East Hanover, NJ - (October 29, 2002) Companies performing ore mining and ball milling applications at extreme temperatures can now reduce downtime and scheduled maintenance while improving overall operational productivity with the new ANDEROL Polyguard 4100 synthetic open gear lubricant. Comparison tests show the non-asphaltic lubricant's proprietary chemistry evaporates at nearly twice the rate of mineral-based products allowing for a rapid set-up on gear teeth helping to prevent metal loss. It also significantly reduces volatile organic carbon (VOC) emissions.

Easier Clean Off, Extended Life

Unlike asphaltic lubricants, the ANDEROL Polyguard 4100 has a
transparent amber color making clean up, inspection and maintenance a simple process without the need for operational shutdowns. Minimal lubricant consumption and negligible equipment wear and replacement contribute to maximized cost savings. The lubricant's additive chemistry provides extreme pressure protection that couples with excellent load carrying characteristics to provide optimal equipment efficiency.

"Our new lubricant is an alternative of the future -- providing both favorable performance and environmental friendliness in high and low temperature weather conditions," says Garrett M. Grega, global marketing manager at ANDEROL. "Mining and milling customers will enjoy a lubricant that emits less hydrocarbons, requires fewer change-outs and prevents metallurgical fatigue."

The ANDEROL Polyguard 4100 is used for bull and pinion gears on rod and ball mills; rack and pinion gears on shovel dipsticks; and swing and pinion gears on top of the lower frame of shovels and draglines, which are sometimes served with an automatic lubrication system.

The lubricant works on gears by forming a protective shear
high-strength coating affording excellent lubrication while cooling gear teeth. Other benefits include corrosion protection and tenacious cling properties.
