LSI Technology to Boost Enterprise Application Performance for HP XML Accelerator

LSI networking technology with new HP solution increases performance, reduces power and operating costs of servers hosting SAP and other enterprise applications

MILPITAS, Calif., May 12 / / - LSI Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today announced that LSI(TM) Tarari® technology has been integrated into the new HP XML Accelerator for SAP NetWeaver PI. LSI is working with HP to accelerate the performance of servers hosting SAP and other enterprise applications. The new, highly integrated system will help meet the complex demands placed on today's datacenters by reducing user wait time, eliminating common processing bottlenecks and lowering operating expenses.

LSI is developing ultra-fast software and hardware that can be quickly and seamlessly integrated into existing enterprise servers. In addition to supporting SAP NetWeaver PI, the LSI Tarari technology is targeted at accelerating a wide range of enterprise applications such as online shopping, payment processing, customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, business intelligence and automated billing systems.

"In any sort of datacenter application, the speed of the system is no faster than its slowest component," said Randy Smerik, senior vice president, Network Components Division, LSI. "LSI brought its expertise in the development of silicon-based acceleration solutions to bear on one of the most severe processing bottlenecks in contemporary computing - resulting in much higher performance for users and significantly lower application processing expense for IT organizations."

In large-scale datacenter and cloud computing environments, complex enterprise applications and intersystem communications consume a major portion of computing cycles throughout the processing chain. Existing systems can be subject to so much demand that they frequently fail to provide adequate response. Testing performed by LSI and HP has shown that many crucial bottlenecks can be removed by using specialized silicon and software to accelerate the processing of key tasks.

"SAP customers with demanding business transactions need efficient data processing systems that not only improve response times, but save them money," said Jim Jackson, vice president of marketing, Business Critical Systems, HP. "The HP XML Accelerator, which includes LSI technology, speeds SAP communications by up to 400 percent to help customers respond quickly to business demands."

The first detailed LSI product announcements and availability are planned for later this year.
