LP-13 Developed to Reduce HVAC Vibration

The LP-13 Shake Absorber® Vibration Isolation pad, developed by Kellett Enterprises, Inc., has a 3 layer design to reduce vibration and noise under machinery including commercial and residential HVAC units. The vibration is isolated when you place a composite material between the source of vibration - your equipment - and the support structure for that equipment.

Vibration in one piece of equipment can adversely affect the functions of other equipment that surrounds it. In extreme cases, when equipment is not properly isolated, even structural damage can occur. This product was designed to effectively isolate vibrations and return your equipment to peak performance levels. The 3 layer design of 1 layer of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS plastic) between 2 layers of custom blended neoprene converts mechanical energy into a small amount of heat energy, and that in effect prevents transfer of vibration at the contact points.

Vibration has been reduced in the past using rubber and cork pads or springs. Over a short period of time, the cork and rubber pads lose compression due to weather requiring replacement sometimes as much as every 2 to 3 months. Springs used to control vibration last longer, but eventually rust due to weather also requiring replacement. The life expectancy of the LP-13 Shake Absorber® Pad is 10+ years.

Characteristics of the LP-13 include: temperature ranges from -40° up to 220° Fahrenheit; oil, abrasion, flame and UV resistant; water absorption is less than 2% and the co efficient of friction up to Static: 963u; the pad also provides low frequency sound reduction. By determining several factors such as the number of feet or contact points of the equipment, weight and RPM’s, the pad is cut to specifications that best fit the application, using either a Shore Durometer from 50 to 70.
