New Low Profile Rotary Stage
BURLINGTON, MA, FEBRUARY 14, 2006 --Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a new line of precision positioning stages manufactured by its FMD division. One of these is the ultra compact DT 58-DC Rotary Stage. The DT 58-DC series offers a sleek low profile design with an overall height of 41.5 mm and length of 193 mm. This rotary stage weighs only 1.4 kg, but can handle loads of up to 100 Newtons! It offers a positional accuracy of 0.05 degrees and repeatability of 0.003 degrees with a typical surface run out of 20 µm. Speeds up to 80 deg/s and accelerations of 360 deg/s² are easily achieved.
The DT 58-DC Rotary Stage is driven by a preloaded 180:1 worm gear and includes a contactless Hall-sensor reference switch. The case is manufactured from a low distortion aluminum alloy and is black anodized. The unit comes complete with a DC motor and is available with two measuring system options, a Rotary Encoder with 500 pulses per rotation or a direct reading Incremental Angular Encoder with a resolution of 0.0005 degrees. The DT 58-DC Rotary stage is available with Steinmeyer's optional "Easy-µ minimot" motion controller. This stage is also available with an optional center hole with a diameter of 22 mm.
The DT 58-DC Rotary Stage is ideal for applications in the Semiconductor, Fiber Optic, Medical/Life Sciences, Optical and Laser Systems and Miniature Robotics industries.
