Press Release Summary:
Model LT3024 low dropout, micropower regulator offers both 500 and 100 mA outputs. It operates from input voltage of 1.8-20 V, delivering dual outputs at voltages as low as 1.22 V. With 0.01 µF bypass capacitor, output noise is 20 µVRMS over 10 Hz to 100 kHz bandwidth. Suited for battery-powered systems, low 30 µA quiescent current per channel helps regulator maximize battery run time. Unit comes in thermally-enhanced TSSOP-16E package or 12-lead 4 x 3mm DFN.

Dual Low Noise, Micropower LDO Offers 500mA & 100mA Outputs in 4 x 3mm DFN
MILPITAS, CA - March 9, 2004 - Linear Technology announces the LT3024, a dual, low dropout, low noise micropower regulator with both 500mA and 100mA outputs. It operates from an input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V, delivering dual outputs at voltages as low as 1.22V. Its wide input voltage range accommodates sources from single cell Li-Ion or multicell alkaline/NiMH, to higher voltage fixed rails. With a 0.01uF bypass capacitor, output noise is a low 20uVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. Designed for use in battery-powered systems, the low 30uA quiescent current per channel makes it ideal for maximizing battery run time. Dropout voltage is only 300mV (at 100mA and 500mA respectively), enabling very low dropout applications such as 3.6V input to a regulated 3.3V output.
The LT3024 regulator is stable with tiny 1uF (100mA output), 3.3uF (500mA output) output capacitors without any series resistance, as required by competitive regulators. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting and reverse current protection. The LT3024 is available with adjustable outputs in either a thermally enhanced TSSOP-16E package or a 12-lead 4x3mm DFN.
Both package options are available from stock and 1,000-piece pricing starts at $2.45 each
