Lonza Chooses Emerson's Syncade(TM) Smart Operations Management Suite for Existing Biopharmaceutical Facility
Syncade(TM) software integrated with PlantWeb® architecture to optimize performance of Large Scale-Cell Culture facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire
AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 15, 2009) -- Global biopharmaceutical manufacturer Lonza has selected Emerson Process Management to provide manufacturing operations management software to further enhance the strong performance of plant operations at its Portsmouth, New Hampshire facility. Emerson will integrate its new Syncade(TM) smart operations management suite to the existing PlantWeb® digital architecture to increase efficiency of Lonza's biopharmaceutical manufacturing and quality assurance functions.

The selection of Emerson and Syncade(TM) Suite was made by Lonza for its Portsmouth facility based on previous success at Lonza's facility in Visp, Switzerland, as well as Emerson's efforts to work with Lonza to develop a detailed understanding of the Portsmouth site requirements for electronic batch records.
Syncade(TM) Suite will provide the Portsmouth facility with a manufacturing IT system for the following manufacturing activities:
o Work in process material tracking
o Equipment use status management
o Electronic manufacturing procedure execution
o Electronic batch record management
o Quality Assurance review by exception
o Plant floor integration with ERP.
