Hendrickson's New QUAANTUM(TM) FX Trailer Suspension System Gives Truckers Peace of Mind for the Long Run

CANTON, Ohio - Hendrickson took the next step in suspension system integration with the introduction of QUAANTUM(TM) FX complete with HNP(TM) or HUS® long-life wheel ends.

Featuring hubcap-to-hubcap, limited warranties of five and seven years, the new QUAANTUM FX for vocational trailer applications melds suspension components including extended-service brakes and wheel ends, air springs and shock absorbers, to work as part of a cohesive, long-life unit.

"Our exclusive HNP and HUS hub and wheel-end systems provide the advantage of outstanding versatility to accommodate today's growing complexity of tire technology,
reports Jeff Shahan, program manager, Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems.

"With the proprietary P90(TM) spindle, durable hubs, precision bearings, high quality seals and extended-service brakes, shocks and air springs, Hendrickson's integrated systems create a long-life solution to meet the needs of today's fleets and owner operators," Shahan continues.

All QUAANTUM FX units feature the industry's first standard trailer Cam Tube System(TM), which along with Hendrickson Extended Service(TM) (HXS®) brakes compliment Hendrickson's advanced wheel-end components - Hendrickson Unitized System (HUS) and the HNP with the unique P90 spindle. In combination, these features put to rest the idea that trailer S-cam brakes have a short service life and are difficult to maintain.

The HNP wheel-end system represents the industry's first new hub/spindle design in many years. In the evolution of wheel ends, Hendrickson's HNP hub provides an excellent weight and cost-effective configuration.

The HNP wheel end utilizes ADI (Dura-Light) material, for one of the most durable and lightweight wheel ends on the market.

Installed by Hendrickson's factory-trained technicians, HNP incorporates twin
"N" inner bearings, an "R" seal, the patent-pending PRECISION320(TM) nut system and a patent-pending self-centering hubcap creating a completely rebuildable wheel end.

In contrast, the HUS wheel end features a unitized system that fleets trust for mile after mile of dependable and low cost operation. The HUS wheel end reduces maintenance and helps increase uptime by eliminating seal and bearing replacement every 250,000 or 500,000 miles.

In addition, factory installation of both HNP and HUS systems helps lock out contaminates from the assembly process to increase bearing life and help reduce bearing maintenance. Hendrickson's patented axle filter provides additional protection from contaminates.

For haulers adopting today's wide-base tire configurations, the exclusive P90 spindle, featured only on QUAANTUM FX suspensions, gives fleets the choice to use either wide-base or dual tires. This 90mm parallel spindle also promotes even lubrication for the bearings.

QUAANTUM FX suspensions provide a self-centering hubcap. A tapped hole in the hubcap allows attachment of an alignment tool or hub odometer without jeopardizing the integrity of the hubcap seal.

QUAANTUM FX5 with HNP comes standard with a five-year limited warranty, including shocks and air springs. For fleets owners and managers who would like an additional two years of coverage, QUAANTUM FX7 with HUS provides a seven-year wheel-end warranty.

Achieving complete component integration with a single warranty source, QUAANTUM FX trailer suspensions deliver the weight-savings, outstanding performance and rugged durability fleet owners and owner operators rely on from Hendrickson.
