SAN JOSE, Calif. -- (January 29. 2002) - Seventeen new 3GHz to 4GHz PECL and LVPECL devices have been added to Micrel Semiconductor's growing portfolio of ECL Pro(TM) communications logic solutions. Micrel (NASDAQ: MCRL) is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of integrated circuits for the analog, power management and high speed communications markets.

The new PECL/LVPECL devices include clock fanout buffers and clock dividers, drivers/receivers and translators. They operate down to 2.5V single-supply and are guaranteed over the -40degC to +85degC temperature range. A new fanout buffer family (SY10/100EP11, EP 111 and EP210) features a 30% to 50% improvement in critical AC-timing parameters compared to the previous ECLinPS Lite(TM) family: a guaranteed maximum frequency >3GHz, pin-to-pin skew of <20ps, and tr/tf time of <180ps over temperature.

The ECL Pro(TM) family of devices is a rapidly growing line of high-performance ECL logic, offering a significant speed upgrade compared to the ECLinPS Lite(TM) devices.
