Ball Lock(TM) Mounting System Now Available In Pre-Engineered Kits For Haas Machining Centers
CLEVELAND, OH -(Date), 2001 -Jergens, Inc. has announced that it is now offering Ball Lock(TM) fixture kits for Haas machining centers. The new kits contain all of the components needed to employ the Ball Lock system for the most widely used Haas models, including: VF-E, VF-O, VF-1, VF-OE, VF-2, VF-3, VF-4, VF-5 and MINI MILL. For example, a standard kit would include a correctly-sized subplate and fixture plate (both pre-drilled and with Ball Lock bushings installed), the correct number of Ball Lock shanks, T-slot nuts, sine fixture keys and socket head cap screws. Numerous optional fixture plate configurations are available as well.
The patented Ball Lock(TM) Mounting System is used to locate and lock fixture plates to subplates. It frees valuable machine time by providing quick change capability. Employing the system generally takes less than one minute, and requires only a few turns of a set screw. Repeatability is ±.0005", which minimizes or eliminates the need to indicate fixture position. The Ball Lock system securely holds plates together with working loads up to 20,000 lbs.
