Original Press Release:

Freedom in Force Sensing

Tekscan, Inc. (Boston, MA), the leading manufacturer of complete force and pressure measurement solutions, announces the release of its Wireless ELF(TM) System. Wireless ELF takes the concept of a turnkey, user-friendly load measurement system one step further by eliminating cumbersome wires and enabling your laptop or PC to quickly capture and store force data from an event up to 200 feet away. This revolutionary system offers greater flexibility for countless applications, including sports equipment testing, safety assessment, medical applications, or any force measurement application involving a mobile subject. The new wireless version of the already successful ELF System will allow customers greater freedom and flexibility in using force and pressure sensors in their product research, quality assurance, and testing.

Wireless ELF combines ultra-thin (0.008") piezoresistive FlexiForce® single-element load sensors with a USB-powered Hub, battery-operated transmitter (4 V. min. - 7V. max.), and simple software which displays real-time force data in pounds, grams, or Newtons. Users can select whether to view the data digitally, or in chart format. Data can be saved as "movie files" to play back later; data can also be saved in Ascii format and exported to data analysis programs.

This product was honored at Sensors Expo 2006 as one of the sensor industry's best new products of the year. For more information on Wireless ELF, visit www.tekscan.com/flexiforce/systems.html
