Load Cell offers nominal accuracy of ±0.010%.

Press Release Summary:

Tedea Huntleigh 3520 Shear Beam Load Cells suit low-profile floor scales and pallet scales. The 19 mm high load cells are constructed from stainless steel, making them easy to clean and corrosion resistant. Units are fully sealed to meet IP67 standards. High thermostability ensures accuracy throughout wide temperature fluctuations. Six-wire cable, with 2 sensing wires, eliminates measurement inaccuracies due to voltage drops across cables and other interconnection losses.

Original Press Release:

Vishay Tedea-Huntleigh Shear Beam Load Cells Have Nominal Accuracy of ± 0.010 % of Applied Load

Low-profile 3520 range is suited to weighing equipment and industrial applications

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - November 17, 2004 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces that the Vishay Tedea Huntleigh 3520 range of shear beam load cells, part of the Vishay Transducers product portfolio, targets low-profile floor scales, pallet scales, and other trade or industrial process and weighing applications. The 19-mm-high load cells save space and enhance the appearance of end products. Stainless steel construction allows easy cleaning and provides high resistance to corrosion. The units are also fully sealed to meet IP67 standards.

Nominal accuracy is up to ± 0.010 % of applied load, with special design features to ensure high thermostability and thereby safeguard accuracy throughout wide temperature fluctuations. The 3520 range also features six-wire cable with two sensing wires, which eliminates measurement inaccuracies due to voltage drops across cables and other interconnection losses. Each unit is supplied with three meters of polyurethane-sheathed, floating-screen cable.

The 3520 range carries approvals for many applications, including OIML (International Organization of Legal Metrology) R60 approval for trade weighing equipment with up to 6000 divisions, and hazardous area approval to ATEX 94/9/EC category EEx ia IIC T6 for explosive atmospheres. This includes the most explosive atmospheres containing hydrogen or acetylene, in which the 3520 load cell is certified for use at temperatures up to +85 °C.

Electrical characteristics include 10 V recommended excitation voltage, with output sensitivity 2 mV/V implying a full-scale output signal of 20 mV. Up to 15 V excitation voltage may be applied.

The compensated operating temperature range for the 3520 load cells is -10 °C to +40 °C (safe operating range is -30 °C to +80 °C). The 3520 family covers the capacity range from 500 kg to 2000 kg. The cells offer robust resistance to shock or side loading, and also deflect less than 0.4 mm at rated capacity.
