Load Cell facilitates brake testing.

Press Release Summary:

Designed with 3 in. diameter flat loading surface, Brake Pedal Load Cell measures force where direction of load changes. Set of tapped holes on underside and mounting bracket allow it to be firmly attached to pedal. Load cell gives same output, ±1%, no matter where force is applied across surface. By minimizing error due to off-axis loads, unit is suitable as part of portable system for automotive and aerospace brake testing.

Brake Pedal Load Cell

COLUMBUS, OH., September 2, 2005 - Honeywell [NYSE: HON] Honeywell Sensotec features a brake pedal load cell that measures force where the direction of the load changes. This sensor is designed with a large, flat loading surface (3" diameter) that increases similarity with the original pedal surface. A set of tapped holes on the underside and a special mounting bracket allow it to be firmly attached to the pedal. The load cell gives the same output (+/- 1%) no matter where the force is applied across the surface. By minimizing the error due to off-axis loads, this sensor is part of a portable system used in automotive and aerospace brake testing.
