KEMP Technologies New Load Balancing Platforms Deliver Increased Throughput and SSL Transaction Processing

New 2600 and 3600 LoadMasters offer great value with advanced security and performance features required for Internet Traffic Management

YAPHANK, N.Y., -- KEMP Technologies today announced the newest members to its family of affordable load balancers. The LoadMaster 2600 and the LoadMaster 3600 are both server load balancing, content switching appliances featuring integrated ASIC-based SSL acceleration. Providing application delivery optimization, high availability and fault tolerance, the LoadMaster 2600 and 3600 deliver improved performance for web-enabled applications.

Providing advanced features and high performance at a much lower price point than other competing offerings, the LoadMaster 2600 (replacing the LoadMaster 2500) features 4 GbE ports and delivers improved performance to address increased traffic loads. The 2600 now features a 25-percent improvement for Layer-7 throughput--now at 1.5Gbps. Moreover, the 2600 has improved SSL transactions per second (TPS) to 2,000 TPS.

For even greater throughput, the 8-GbE port LoadMaster 3600 (replacing the LoadMaster 3500), a new mid-range platform offers improved layer 4 and layer 7 throughput of 26 percent to 3.4 Gbps and 25 percent to 2.9 Gbps, respectively. SSL processing performance on the new LM3600 has been increased to 5,000 TPS. Additionally, the 3600 supports up to 1,000 virtual and real servers and 100,000 L7 concurrent connections or two million L4 concurrent transactions.

Both models incorporate application acceleration features such as caching, compression, and SSL offloading--now providing even greater performance for 2,048-bit length keys. This increase in SSL capability cost effectively offers users improved performance and quicker response time for encrypted applications such as e-commerce where web servers can be overwhelmed with SSL encryption processing.

As with all KEMP LoadMaster products, the two new models intelligently and efficiently distribute user traffic among servers to ensure the best possible user experience and high availability for web and business applications. In addition, all KEMP LoadMaster models are now optimized for Microsoft Exchange 2010, Lync, SharePoint, and Terminal Services.

"KEMP Technologies continues to listen to our customers to meet their server load balancing needs," notes Peter Melerud, co-founder and VP of product management of KEMP Technologies. "The LoadMaster 2600 and 3600 platforms are the next step in the evolution of the LoadMaster as customers now require improved performance in order to keep up with increased traffic loads. In the tradition of our other LoadMaster products, KEMP continues to offer products that are high performing and easy to use and deploy--at price points that customers demand."

The new 2600 and 3600 are currently available for shipping and priced at $6,990 and $9,890, respectively including first-year support. These new models will replace the current models, the 2500 and 3500 LoadMasters.
