Live Tooling for Turret Lathes
Planet live tools were designed to overcome the limitations of existing live tool technology used in our own production department. Most live tools are limited to running only a few minutes at a time, requiring duplicate tools, or stopping in the middle of the cycle to allow the tool to cool. Planet's tools have bearings that are cooled and lubricated by filtered machine coolant, allowing almost continuous duty operation. Using liquid cooled bearings results in improved rebuild intervals and cutting accuracy throughout the service life of the tool.
