Line of Spring-Type Live Centers to be Introduced by Royal Products at Westec 2002

A line of Spring-Type Live Centers that compensate for workpiece thermal expansion will be introduced by Royal Products in Booth No. 2145 at Westec 2002, Los Angeles Convention Center, on March 18-21.

The Royal Spring-Type Live Center compensates for thermal expansion of the workpiece by incorporating a point that is able to slide axially along the z-axis. As heat from the machining process causes the workpiece to grow, the rotating point is pushed back into the body of the center, preventing damage to the part. Thrust capacity is maintained by a custom bearing positioned between the point and a series of stacked disk springs.

Additional features of the Royal Spring-Type Live Center include a low-profile body that provides exceptional tool clearance and +/- 0.0001" TIR accuracy. Four popular point styles are available to suit most applications. Also on display at the Royal Products booth will be the rest of the company's complete line of metalworking accessories, Filtermist mist collectors, and Albrecht precision drill chucks.
