Lithium Batteries power RFID transponders.

Press Release Summary:

RFID Lithium Batteries can be supplied in lithium-thionyl chloride, lithium-sulfur dioxide, and lithium-manganese dioxide chemistries to power RFID transponders in material handling tracking systems. They operate over -40 to +70°C range, depending upon configuration, and provide up to 10 years of service. Available with voltages to 4.1 V typ and energy densities to 4 AH/gm, products are offered in coin cells, cylindricals, and other packages.

Original Press Release:

Lithium Batteries for Powering RFID Transponders

A full line of high energy density lithium batteries that come in a wide range of configurations for powering RFID transponders used in material handling tracking systems and related applications is being introduced by Aved Electronics, Inc. of Lowell, Massachusetts.

Aved RFID Lithium Batteries come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with voltages up to 4.1 V typical and up to 4 AH/gm energy density, depending upon configuration. Combining high energy density, low weight, and low self-discharge rates, they are capable of operating over a -40°C to +70°C range, depending upon configuration, and provide up to 10 years service.

Packing a lot of energy into a small package, Aved RFID Lithium Batteries can be supplied as lithium-thionyl chloride(Li-SOCL2), lithium-sulfur dioxide(Li-SO2), and lithium-manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2) chemistries to meet specific performance requirements. Depending upon chemistry, they are available as coin cells, cylindricals, and in other packages.

Aved RFID Lithium Batteries are priced from $0.15 ea., depending upon con-figuration and quantity. Literature and pricing are available on request.
