MTS Introduces Low-Level Liquid Sensor Float for Pharmaceutical Applications

Stainless steel float improves measurement accuracy at extremely low liquid levels...

CARY, N.C. (March 31, 2003) - Expanding its product offerings for the pharmaceutical industry, MTS Sensors introduced a stainless steel, low lift-off float at Interphex 2003 in New York, NY, March 30. The new float design, paired with MTS' M-Series digital or analog magnetostrictive sensor provides accurate liquid level measurement with liftoff as low as 0.5 inches.

"Because the pharmaceutical industry often deals in high-commodity product, providing sanitary sensor components that can measure low liquid levels is crucial to efficient inventory, delivery and quality control in batch processing," said Level Plus® Product Manager Adrian Totten. "This float is ideal for use with the MTS NEMA 4x rated sanitary sensor."

The float is designed to 3A standards and manufactured of stainless steel with no ridges or crevices to prevent corrosion and contamination. The float is also available electropolished to an RA15 surface finish. Welded joints will not leak or collapse in up to 125 PSIG external pressure.
