Liquid Level Switch Performs in High Temperature, Hazardous Applications
December 4, 2001, Greenwood, Indiana - Endress+Hauser's patented and proven tuning fork technology now ensures cost-effective liquid level measurement solutions in high temperature, hazardous applications with the new Liquiphant S.
Designed for challenging applications in the chemical and petrochemical industry, the Liquiphant S withstands temperatures up to 540°F (280°C) In addition to innovative drive technology, the device incorporates special heat resistant components to guard against instrument failure, even under extreme conditions.
The Liquiphant S liquid level switch also features a welded, gas-tight bushing to ensure operational safety in aggressive, toxic materials. This "second line of defense" prevents the process medium from entering the electronics, even if the sensor is damaged.
Employed universally in industrial processes requiring reliable liquid level detection, tuning fork switches function independently of medium properties and are not effected by flow, turbulence, bubbles, foam, vibration, bulk solids content, or buildup. The absence of mechanical moving parts eliminates wear and maintenance requirements, and ensures an economical and extensive operating life
Like other liquid level measurement devices in the popular Liquiphant line, the new switch comes with a wide array of process connections. It installs in threaded openings as small as 3/4", or in flanges as small as 1". Liquiphant S is available in a compact design that is ideal for mounting in pipes and tight spaces, as well as an extension tube version that is available in lengths up to 115 inches (3m).
