Liquid Flow Switch has PP/Rytron® or PVDC construction.

Press Release Summary:

Model FT10 Thermo-Flo(TM) offers adjustable switch setpoints from 0.04 to 3 fps. LED indicates flow or no-flow status, and relay or FET output provides secure interface with remote devices. Two probe lengths, one for pipe sizes from 1/2 to 1 1/2 in., and one for 2 in. and up, are available. Thermal dispersion flow switch measures liquid temperature to determine changes in flow velocity, and is not damaged by abnormally high flow viscosities.

Thermal Dispersion Flow Switch Provides Flow Detection and Switching from 0.04 to 3 fps

LOS ALAMITOS, CA (February 10, 2001) - Flowline's FT10 Thermo-Flo(TM) Liquid Flow Switch is a reliable solution for pump and process protection. The switch setpoint is adjustable from 0.04 to 3 fps. An LED indicates flow or no-flow status. The relay or FET output provides a secure interface with such remote devices as a PLC, SCADA or alarm.

The flow switch is an excellent choice for a wide range of clean, non-coating or scaling type liquids. Media examples include hydrochloric acid, lubrication oil and glycol solutions. Two probe lengths provide for maximum installation flexibility: (1) a short sensor for pipe sizes from 1/2" to 1-1/2", and (2) a long sensor for 2" up.

The thermal dispersion flow switch measures liquid temperature to determine changes in flow velocity. As liquid flows across the sensing tip, the temperature is reduced proportionally as a function of the flow rate. When a velocity shift reaches the user-defined setpoint, the switch changes state indicating the appropriate flow condition. The sensor is not damaged by abnormally high flow velocities.

All-plastic construction with PP/Ryton® or PVDC construction makes the device an ideal choice for highly corrosive media. Sensor rating is NEMA 4X (IP65).

Thermo-Flo(TM) sensors can be packaged with the rugged Thermo-Flo(TM) flow switch and compact junction box. For remote relay control, the switch may be packaged with the LC80-1 001 controller which accepts one sensor input with one relay input and automatically shuts off a pump or turns on an alarm.

Price for the FT10 liquid flow switch starts from $160 with aggressive volume discounting. Delivery is from stock.
