New, Higher Current Electronically Variable Linearity Coils for CRT Applications
Prem Magnetics, Inc. announces the addition of four new printed circuit mount electronically adjustable linearity coils. Prem's product numbers SDL-3006 through SDL-3009 were developed for applications having yoke current requirements ranging from 14.0 Amps (SDL-3006 & SDL-3008) to 18.0 Amps (SDL-3007 & SDL-3009) peak to peak. In addition to increased current capability, these coils offer extended operation for multi-scan rate monitors utilizing frequencies up to 90 KHz (SDL-3006 & SDL-3008) and 150 KHz (SDL-3007 & SDL-3009) respectively.
Each coil is electronically adjustable via a control winding that is biased with a positive or negative dc current. The main or function winding characteristics will vary with the dc bias current applied, thus providing more precise linearity in cathode ray tube (CRT) displays. Adjustments to the CRT circuit can be made externally to the enclosure since the component itself does not have to be physically accessed.
Two of the four units have two (2) M3-4 threaded inserts embedded within the top of the case. These can be used to secure a heat sink to the top of the case in order to reduce temperature rise and thermal drift. All four units utilize UL94VO materials.
The coils incorporate pins for printed circuit board mounting, and have overall typical dimensions of 1.80" (45.72 mm) Length x 1.00 (25.4 mm) Width x 0.800" (20.32 mm) Height. Pricing in moderate production quantities ranges from $11.06 to $12.33 each. Availability is stock to 6 weeks.
