New MicroStage 46(TM) Precision Linear Slides and Stages Are Ideal for Semiconductor and Multi-Axis Pick and Place Applications

Ronkonkoma, NY - Thomson Industries, Inc. - the technology leader in Linear Motion - is expanding its product offering with the addition of the MicroStage 46 linear stage. Available in both belt and ball screw actuated configurations, the new MicroStage 46 provides a low cost, high performance drop-in replacement for imported heavier steel based products, but with several advantages:

- Manufactured from rugged, high quality aluminum for optimum strength and rigidity, its light weight dramatically decreases the mass of the system. All members of the MicroStage family are designed with Thomson's proven steel 60 Case* LinearRace* shafts and Ball Bushing* bearing technology.

- It provides lower inertia than steel products, with the same performance.

- Its patented bearing segment design features a backlash free assembly without sacrificing load capacity or smoothness.

- It is the first slide on the market that is Redi-Mount* compliant, which permits the mounting of any and all servo/stepping motors, as well as gearheads. The extremely versatile mounting system allows the customer to change motors in the field with an array of standard stocked kits.

The MicroStage 46 is available in extended stroke lengths up to 1840 mm to satisfy a wide variety of applications, e.g., multi-axis pick and place, insertion and PC board assembly, and wafer transport and handling.

The U.S. manufactured MicroStage 46 features a "T" slot design integral to the base for mounting, and installation of fully adjustable limit switch packages. Corresponding hole patterns in the base and carriage allow for easy x-y mounting configurations. Additionally, Thomson offers a complete line of Hybrid Steppers and Servo motors complete with drives, controllers and cables.

As part of its philosophy to provide a "total solution from a single source," Thomson Industries encourages requests for special options that meet your specific application requirements, e.g., Hall Effect Sensors, Linear Encoders, Resolver Feedback, Custom Bracketry, Wiring Harnesses, Cable Carriers and Wrap Around Motor configurations.
