Griffin Motion Announces its High-Speed LM3 Series 300mm-Travel Precision Linear Motion Platform

Fully sealed & capable of high linear velocities up to 900mm/s, this compact, low-profile linear stage delivers exceptional accuracy, repeatability, & long-lifetime performance in a variety of factory automation & semiconductor processing applications

Apex, NC — Griffin Motion, a precision motion equipment manufacturer that designs and develops extremely precise modular and application-specific motion solutions that deliver accuracies from microns to nanometers, announces its high-speed LM3 Series 300mm-travel precision linear motion platform. Built for high duty cycles and long-lifetime precision performance in inspection, scanning, optical positioning, and laser marking and machining applications, these compact, low-profile linear motor stages exhibit exceptional levels of accuracy (15µm), repeatability (1µm), flatness (5µm), and straightness (5µm) with regard to travel, and attain high linear velocities up to 900mm/s, which is ideal for factory automation and semiconductor processing equipment.

Additional features of the LM3 Series 300mm-travel precision linear motion stages include: ironless linear servomotors and recirculating ball linear ways, which enable extremely smooth motion and velocity control; hard coverings complete with side seals to satisfy the ingress protection demands of harsh industrial applications; a high-resolution (0.1µm) linear SS scale encoder; optical limit switches with home; and integrated cable management to simplify design-in. The series can also be stacked to create XY motion.

“Two critical features that differentiate Griffin Motion platforms from the competition are the almost-unbeatable levels of precision, accuracy, and repeatability that they deliver at a comparably outstanding price/performance ratio, and our proven ability to quickly customize the stages with features such as customer-specified mounting holes or varied travel lengths, often within the span of our already relatively short lead-times,” said Josh Houghton, chief operating officer, Griffin Motion. “We also make it a point to imbue each stage with additional value — like the LM3 Series’ fully-sealed case and integrated cable management — to provide our customers with benefits that, while not necessarily critical, improve installation and performance.”

Made in the USA, LM3 Series 300mm-travel precision linear motion platforms measure 530mm (20.866”) x 205.096mm (8.075”) x 62mm (2.441”) with regard to length, width, and height, and standard lead-time for the series is five weeks; although, expedited lead-times are available upon request.
