Linear Encoders with Multiple Scanning Units Available as Standard from HEIDENHAIN



SCHAUMBURG, IL - (November 2005) - In answer to demand, absolute linear encoders with multiple scanning units are now available from HEIDENHAIN as standard fare. These HEIDENHAIN LC scales are of particular use with machine concepts where more than one slide is moving along a machine axis, in particular, through directly driven linear axes.

The use of a multi-unit absolute linear encoder in these applications is an ideal choice as this design keeps cost down and requires only limited space.

Another advantage of these multi-unit linear encoders is the standard inclusion of HEIDENHAIN's revolutionary new interface, the bi-directional, digital EnDat 2.2.
