Linear Bearings are designed for precision operation.

Press Release Summary:

Available in inch and metric sizes with respective bore ranges of 3/16-1 in. and 10-25 mm, Linear Precision Bearings incorporate load plates that float in outer sleeve and allow for clearance between ball elements and shaft. Load plates also compensate for any slight misalignment between shaft and housing bore. Also featured, floating integral wiper seal allows for self-alignment while maintaining equal and constant contact to shaft.

Precision Linear Bearings

A high performance series of Linear Precision Bearings is available in both inch (3/16" to 1" bore) and metric sizes (10mm to 25mm bore) from Nordex, Inc. A new standard in linear motion, the high performance slide bushing has three times the load capacity and is capable of providing up to 27 times the normal travel life of a conventional slide bushing.

Other features include:
o Self-aligning Capability - load plates are thinner at the ends to provide a pivot point at the center of the plate with the center acting as a fulcrum to compensate for any slight misalignment between the shaft and the housing bore that might be caused by inaccurate machining, mounting error or shaft deflection.
o Floating Integral Wiper Seal - a unique floating seal design allows for self-alignment while maintaining equal and constant contact to the shaft. Seals do not add to the overall length of the bushing allowing for more compact designs.
o Clearance Adjustable - load plates are designed to "float" in the outer sleeve allowing for clearance between the ball elements and shaft to best suit application requirements.
o Cost Effectiveness - higher load capability and longer travel life enable the use of smaller components reducing material costs and the overall cost of the system. Longer travel life also extends replacement periods to reduce maintenance costs.

In addition to its line of High Performance Precision Linear Bearings, Nordex also carries a wide assortment of precision bearings; ball, linear-rotary, bronze and needle roller, in metric and inch sizes, with tolerances including ABEC-1, -3, and -7.
