"Digit-HT" Series - New! High Force Linear Actuators from Ultra Motion

Mattituck, NY - The new "Digit-HT" series of compact linear actuators provides the user with up to 440 lbs. of force. Available in 2, 4 and 8 in. (51, 102, and 203 mm) stroke lengths, and moving at up to 14 in/sec. (381 mm/sec), these compact in-line linear actuators can provide up to 440 lbs of force (1957 N) using a 35 VDC driver at 1.7 to 3.4 Amps. Repeatability is 1.5 microns. Totally enclosed, these actuators are available in a variety of drive screw combinations. A variety of mounting options, including rod bearing clevises, trunnion mounts, and brackets allows easy integration into new and existing applications. The "Digit-HT," linear actuator is ideal for use in robotics, medical equipment, processing, valve actuation, clean room, testing, pick-and-place, packaging, and positioning applications.

Precision ball and Acme drive screws directly coupled to the high performance NEMA 23 sized, 2 phase stepper motor provides the user with the ability to specify a precision linear actuator specifically for their application. Motor/screw combinations include: Zero backlash as well as combinations that cannot be back-driven. The "Digit-HT" linear actuator with a NEMA 23 stepper is just 2.230 in. (56.6mm) square x 3.230 in, (82 mm) long at the motor end with a 1.25 in. (26.7 mm) diameter housing tube. The overall length is only 5.582 in. (141.8 mm) longer than the stroke length. Home position sensing can be accomplished with either reed switches or hall effect sensors. The operating temperature range is -40°F to 150°F (-40°C to 65°C). Optionally, absolute (not incremental), analog or digital position feedback can be provided.

The "Digit-HT" linear actuators are available with matching controllers and drivers for full, half step and micro-stepping operation. The stainless steel actuator shaft is sealed so that no contamination can enter or exit the housing and it can be washed down, making this series ideal for clean room and medical applications. Radiation hardened units and units suitable for vacuum environments (to 10-6 TORR) are also available.

Ultra Motion is a manufacturer and supplier of high precision electromechanical mini-linear actuators and matching controllers. Generating high forces, they are the ideal alternative to hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Typically, these clean and quiet, high performance mini-linear actuators are selected for low to moderate power applications when high precision and reliability are important requirements. Using state-of-the-art materials, they are lightweight and very cost effective.
