Linear Accelerometers provide measurement while drilling.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for downhole well service applications, SA-220RHT and SA-225RHT Force Balance Accelerometers are completely self-contained and provide high level, low impedance output, eliminating need for high-temperature signal conditioning. Model SA-220RHT operates from +15 Vdc at temperatures up to 200°C, while Model SA-225RHT requires +5 Vdc and operates to 190°C. Weighing 3.34 oz, biaxial accelerometers are packaged in nickel-plated aluminum cases measuring 1.13 in.² x 2.285 in. H.

Original Press Release:

Biaxial Linear Accelerometers Designed for Measurement While Drilling (MWD) in Down Hole Well Applications

Columbia Research Laboratories' Models SA-220RHT and SA-225RHT Force Balance Accelerometers have been designed as Measurement While Drilling (MWD) sensors for use in down hole well service applications. In addition to exceptional high temperature performance, rugged construction and low power consumption have made the SA-220RHT and SA-225RHT sensors the accepted standard for use in down hole high temperature mapping. Both sensors are completely self-contained and provide a high level, low impedence output eliminating the need for high temperature signal conditioning.

The Model SA-220RHT operates from + 15VDC and is capable of operating at temperatures of up to 200°C. Model SA-225RHT requires + 5VDC and operates to 190°C. Units weigh 3.34 oz. (94.7 gm) and are packaged in nickel plated 1.13" Sq. x 2.285" H (2.9cm Sq. x 5.8cm H) aluminum cases. Customized versions re available through factory consultation.
