RadiSys Announces Dual Oc-3c/STM-1 ATM-to-IP Line Card Suitable for Wireless and Wireline Applications

The RadiSys ENP-3504 offers OEMs a fully integrated hardware and software solution that meets Telcordia specifications.

NUREMBERG, GERMANY - February 17, 2004 - Today at Embedded World, RadiSys Corp. (Nasdaq: RSYS) announced the availability of dual OC-3 line card functionality for its ENP-3504. This integrated functionality enables quicker time to market for wireless and wire line applications that require ATM AAL2 and AAL5 processing and bridging to the Internet Protocol (IP). The ENP-3504 is also equipped with Stratum 3 clocking performance including holdover that meets Telcordia specifications. Incorporating the needed software and processing power, clocking, and ATM to IP bridging with one module means OEMs can devote more real estate to distinctive features that differentiate their network enabled products and save months of development time.

The RadiSys ENP-3504, an industry first monitoring solution announced in September 2003, is now capable of addressing line card requirements for RNC (Radio Network Controllers) applications where ATM to IP bridging is required. The card facilitates wire-speed protocol bridging (an interworking function) through its unique combination of hardware and pre-integrated software.

"Providing customers with proven, application ready solutions is a key strategy for RadiSys," said Fred Yentz, vice president at RadiSys. "Using our ENP-3504, OEMs can now focus on their application specific software and capabilities, so time to market and total cost of ownership is reduced."

The ENP-3504 offers the most comprehensive suite of protocols assuring customers' compatibility and adherence to telecommunications and industrial computing applications specifications. This compliance means designers can develop, optimize and debug advanced networking products for wireless infrastructure and multi-service provisioning platforms, faster and at a lower cost.
