New Release Extends Flexibility and Readability
NEW ORLEANS -PerkinElmer Instruments announces the latest release of the acclaimed LABWORKS(TM) Enterprise Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software. Version 254 is a testament to PerkinElmer's commitment to LIMS innovation and excellence. LABWORKS Enterprise remains at the forefront of LIMS development and strives to make LIMS as powerful and easy-to-use as possible. This version takes advantage of the newest Windows® technologies, allowing the LIMS to operate more seamlessly in a network environment and with other instruments.
Version 254 includes expanded data fields to provide flexibility and readability, a "Quick Help" feature which displays help screens with current program information, and user-modified text files. It also supports 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Many of the enhancements were in direct response to customer feedback and suggestions.

Other important new features include the ability to integrate a hand-held computer with the Process Scheduler and new Login server to streamline the sample login process. Improvements to the Process Scheduler allow results to be entered into the hand-held computer off-site and seamlessly downloaded to the LIMS. This virtually eliminates transcription errors and reduces data entry time. The new Login server streamlines the multi-sample login process with improvements in custody, process scheduler, number sequencing, and project analyte management login routines.
A new document reference program assists laboratories in maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), material safety data sheets (MSDS), and other types of documents, ensuring that the documents are always available in their current form.
