Steady-Burning Red Aviation Obstruction Lights
UNIVERSITY PARK, IL - September 2002. Federal Signal Electrical Products Group has introduced steady-burning Red Aviation Obstruction Lights as the newest part of its broad line of visual and audible signaling products. Designed to mark tall structures that present hazards to air navigation, these lights, when installed in accordance with FAA AC 70/7460-1, warn pilots flying at night about obstructions such as antennas, water towers, smokestacks, skyscrapers and airport perimeter fencing. Federal Signal Obstruction Lights are a field-proven signal providing years of reliability, boasting a 116-Watt lamp rated for 8000 hours of continual use and photoelectric cells rated for over 5000 on/off operations.
Available in a single- or double-light configuration, Federal Signal's Red Aviation Obstruction Lights feature a corrosion-protected die-cast aluminum housing with a wiring enclosure for mounting on a 1" NPT pipe. For ease of installation and maintenance, the fixtures are each equipped with a stainless steel tether securing the glass dome, a stainless steel band providing tool-free access to the lamp, and captive cover screws.
An optional photoelectric controller will provide automatic lighting activation at dusk per FAA specifications.
All Federal Signal Obstruction lights are shipped factory-assembled with lamps and options.
