Cooper Lighting Introduces Revolutionary Energy Management System

ThinkWatt(TM) Lighting System Employs World's First Wireless Mesh Networked Motion and Photo Sensor

PEACHTREE CITY, GA - Cooper Lighting has announced the world's first wireless mesh networked motion and photo sensor. Called the ThinkWatt(TM), it operates HID, compact fluorescent, linear fluorescent and incandescent light sources for energy management in compliance with all new energy regulations. These new devices can switch electronic or magnetic ballasted luminaires for Hi-Lo functionality, dim electronic ballasted luminaires using 0-10 volt dimming control, and switch any electrical load up to 30A. It is available for 120 volt to 277 volt operation.

The new ThinkWatt(TM) device employs Z-Wave RF Mesh Networking technology to eliminate costly Class-II cabling commonly used by most energy management systems. ThinkWatt(TM) provides a secure wireless network of luminaires that can be zoned and managed in multiple configurations. It does not require a computer or other controller to operate the mesh networked system. This new product is suitable for new construction and retrofit applications and its flexibility and superior performance is unmatched in the industry.

Designed for commercial, industrial, educational, retail and healthcare applications, the new ThinkWatt(TM) Motion Sensor is capable of detecting motion up to 40 feet away. Each device is supplied with two interchangeable lenses for Aisle or Round Area detection. A free rotating universally adjustable mounting mechanism enables the ThinkWatt(TM) Motion Sensor for wall or ceiling mounting. Four different mounting options (electrical junction box, direct luminaire mount, direct threaded ½" trade size knockout and NEMA twistlock mounting), plus IP-65 Ingress Protection ensures these devices work in almost any environment. The polycarbonate housing is virtually indestructible.

"This new product was developed in response to new legislation to satisfy demand from users, installers and energy management experts for a lower cost easy to install solution to control lighting and manage energy demand. Cooper Lighting expects to supplement it with additional tools to enhance its application," explains Randy D. Gananathan, Marketing Manager, Industrial and Specialty Programs for Cooper Lighting.

ThinkWatt(TM) RF Motion Sensors are compatible with Z-Wave devices available from multiple manufacturers worldwide.
