Defiant II is ideally suited for use in wide-ranging commercial,
institutional and industrial locations. These include federal, state and municipal group-residence facilities; sports areas and stadiums; shopping malls; apartment complexes; public parking garages, transportation terminals; dormnitories; high-traffic public buildings and the like.
Product Description: Defiant II surface-mounted luminaires
have a large-scale, boldly contoured circular architectural aesthetic.
The design presents a smooth, wall-hugging profile against vandalism or inadvertent damage, while providing a crisp, contemporary appearance in any space where it is used. A keyed outer locking ring secures the ring to the lens, in turn sealing the lens to a metal back plate on or in the wall, forming a single, tightly fastened unit.
A metal bezel fits between the locking ring and the box-like circular housing of Defiant II. The bezel further prevents tampering with the fixture, while providing a visual transition between the two halves. A choice of decorative front accent accessories can be specified for factory installations to customize light output and add visual interest throughout an installation.
Illumination is provided by a choice of compact fluorescent, HID or HPS lamps in an array of wattages. Computer-designed radial prisms on the lens reduce glare and ensure even light distribution. All fixtures are UL and CUL listed for wet locations; when specified with a recessed wall box, Defiant II Series fixtures are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant.
Construction & Finishes: Defiant II Series mounting plates are constructed of marine-grade, die-cast aluminum, in flat or deep back box styles. The bezel ring is die-cast aluminum. The locking
ring and decorative front accents are constructed from durable, UV-stabilized corrosion-resistant polycarbonate. The lens is UV-stabilized, injection-molded polycarbonate. Clear or white opal lenses may be specified. A silicone gasket between mounting plate and locking ring provides an impenetrable seal against moisture and debris.
Defiant II Series luminaires are provided in a factory-standard
chip- and fade-resistant, UV-stabilized black finish; white, bronze or custom colors may be specified. A single, concealed stainless-steel fastener provides maximum vandal and corrosion resistance for the assembled unit.
