IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 13, 2002- BivarOpto(TM), the Optoelectronics Division of Bivar, Inc., has introduced the LP-230 Series Bi-Level Light Pipe featuring a 90 degree viewing angle with a narrow profile that saves valuable board space.
The bi-level design offers the controlled elevation and spacing attributes of a traditional LED assembly utilizing T1 or T-3/4 LEDs to create a bi-level look, while offering the economy of SMD LED installations. The stacked package light pipes feature flame-retardant 94V-0 compliant clear polycarbonate for maximum light transmission and mounts in a straight line on 0.200 inch (5.08mm) centers. Featuring a water clear lens appearance, these light pipes align perfectly via thru-hole locating pins that are located directly in line with surface mounted LEDs.
BivarOpto light pipes provide circuit protection from accidental electrostatic discharge (ESD) by isolating the PCB from potential contact and are ideal for applications where an automatically placed surface mount LED requires its output redirected to a front panel. The LP-230 Series offers a SMD compatible replacement for Bivar Opto H200 Series and H301 Series assemblies and are recommended for use with BivarOpto SM0603-SM1206 Series SMD LEDs or any industry standard 0608, 0805 or 1206 SMD LED style.
