Micro-Lite® Intros New 1,000-hr. EKE Bulb for Microscope Light Source; 4X Life at the Same Price

Three Rivers, Massachusetts, USA - Micro-Lite®, the world's leading supplier of microscope illumination sources, announces the availability of a new 1,000-hour EKE bulb for its popular fiberoptic FL3000 series 150 watt halogen light boxes and light guides. The new 1,000 hour bulb, #FL-400, lasts four times as long as any comparable EKE bulb, and operates at 3200 degrees Kelvin, providing a bright light source for accurate inspection across the widest range of applications. Typical older-style bulbs have an average life of 250 hours and are more expensive to replace. The FL-400 bulb does not cost any more to replace; because it lasts four times longer than older style EKE replacement bulbs, it delivers exceptional value.

Available in both annular and dual point source configurations, the solid-state Micro-Lite® FL3000 provides cool, bright, long lasting, stable light for production and inspection work. Its unique design prevents burnout of fiberoptic transmission components while delivering 45% more light than competitive systems. Available in all voltages, the FL3000 has a new "soft start" feature that helps prolong bulb life. The FL3000 also features an ESD-safe design to protect sensitive electronic products. A special IR filter to reduce heat is included in each unit. Solid state dimming and a universal nose piece provide easy to use, bright, soft light in a multi-functional package. Color filters are also available.
