Updated Spacesaver S40-65XM Lift Trucks Offer Improved Ergonomics, Reliability and Productivity
Greenville, N.C. - (September 13, 2002) - The 4,000-to 6,500-pound capacity SpaceSaver S40-65XM lift truck series, from Hyster Company, has been redesigned to maximize comfort, convenience and serviceability.
One of the updated ergonomic features included in the SpaceSaver XM series is the Hyster ComforCab. Designed to be the ultimate in comfort and mobility, the ComforCab layout puts all of the operator's controls in the most convenient, logical locations.
As a fully isolated operator compartment, the ComforCab features extensive soundproofing to intercept vibrations and other movements before they reach the operator. And, elastomeric mounts on the steering axle, sound absorption padding and o-ring seals around the perimeter of the ComforCab further limit shocks and engine vibration.
The cab also contains a new full-suspension seat, five-position tilt steering and the MONOTROL® directional control pedal, from Hyster Company. These updates improve productivity by creating a smoother ride and a more comfortable environment.
The entire SpaceSaver XM series has been equipped with an exclusive hydrostatic steering system. In addition to this feature, the S40-65XM trucks are equipped with broad-shouldered axles, designed to put the weight of the load onto the axle housing.
Engine choices for the SpaceSaver XM series include the Mazda 2.0 or 2.2 liter gasoline or the 63 horsepower 3.0 liter GM four-cylinder electronically fuel-injected engines. An optional, removable lint screen can be included to minimize particles from infiltrating the truck's radiator core and keep the truck running cool.
The lift truck engines are teamed with Hyster single-speed powershift transmissions and built-in pressure-modulators to ensure smooth, perfectly timed shifting. Smoother load handling is made possible by the 3100-psi hydraulic system.
