Toyota Offers Lift Truck Integrated Scale for Increased Productivity and Industry Exclusive Scale-Mounted Fork Positioner

Scale Enables Seamless Load Weighing, Moving and Data Management in One Efficient Operation

IRVINE, Calif. - Toyota Material Handling U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU), the nation's leading forklift supplier, launched the new Toyota integrated scale, now available on 4,000-5,000 lb. Toyota internal combustion, cushion tire lift truck models through the company's authorized network of dealers. This new scale, ideal for freight handlers, warehouses, and general shipping and receiving docks, allows for simultaneous weighing and transportation of loads, resulting in increased efficiency and reduced logistic expenses.

"Toyota is committed to providing a comprehensive product mix of material handling solutions," said Martin Boyd, vice president of product planning and marketing. "With Toyota's lift truck integrated scale, our customers are able to continuously weigh, handle and manage load data in one streamlined operation, offering valuable time and fuel savings."

Lift Truck Scales Increase Productivity

The Toyota integrated scale enables operators to quickly view, record or transfer legal-for-trade load weight information as the load is being transported through the facility. With the ability to weigh loads en route, this versatile cost-effective scale eliminates the repetitive, time-consuming process of transporting loads to and from floor scales.

A built-in side shifter increases operator efficiency and allows for 4" movement each way without the operator having to leave their seat.

Recessed Weight Sensors Offer Durability, Virtually No Maintenance

Four National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) certified electronic Weigh Bar® sensors are integrated into the scale's heavy-duty reinforced carriage, a design that helps withstand stress under heavy loads and protects the scale's sensors against impact. The electronic sensors have no mechanical springs or moving parts that can damage or break, and the bolt-on sensors are conveniently located for easy servicing.

Accurate Measurement Helps Reduce Shipping Weight Discrepancies

Warehouse and freight terminal operators, dependent on weight data for their shipping fees, benefit from an integrated scale, which will help avoid costly weight discrepancies and works to ensure safe trailer load weight. The Toyota integrated scale has been validated by the National Conference on Weights and Measures to weigh legal-for-trade even when the floors are not level or the pallet load is off center.

A choice of two over head guard shock-mounted digital LCD displays are available for operators to review, manage, report and transmit load data. The FLI 225 digital display offers dual serial ports for peripheral connectivity, 350 transaction memory, scale diagnostics mode and optional Wi-Fi capability for easy transmission of stored load statistics. While, the FLI 425 features more robust options including a 7" style touch screen color LCD display, a Windows CE.NET® platform and multiple ways for load data transmission via standard serial ports, USB devices, Ethernet or Wi-Fi options.

Industry Exclusive Scale-Mounted Fork Positioner

Toyota's exclusive scale-mounted fork positioner option allows operators to quickly and precisely position the forks without leaving their seat. The fork positioner's unique top-mounted design has no impact on the lift truck's length optimizing maneuverability and load handling compared to integral or hang-on fork positioners that increase a lift truck's length and diminish capacity. Toyota offers a number of data management accessories to complement customers' business needs. A mix of wireless tools including Bluetooth® enabled barcode scanners, wireless vs. the standard wired communication between the scale carriage and the digital display and Wi-Fi wireless CompactFlash card are available through Toyota's Special Design Group.

The Toyota integrated scale is pre-calibrated and tested prior to shipping from Toyota's state-of-the art manufacturing facility Toyota Industrial Equipment Mfg., Inc. (TIEM) in Columbus, Ind.
