Original Press Release:

New JLG(R)/Gradall(R) Telehandler Has 9,000-Pound Capacity

McConnellsburg, PA April 11, 2002 - The new Model G9-43A telehandler by JLG Industries, Inc. and The Gradall Company offers a 9,000-pound capacity, a 43-foot maximum lift height and a 30-foot reach with the operator's choice of all-wheel, front wheel or crab steering.

The Model G9-43A has designed-in advantages thanks to an exclusive frame that's unlike any other in the industry. The machine's "backbone" frame is offset slightly to the operator cab side, bringing the mid-mounted engine closer to the center of the machine for excellent left-right weight distribution. Superior frame strength is another advantage of the new "backbone" design.

The even weight distribution advantage complements the Model G9-43A's long wheelbase and low center of gravity, helping to keep the machine both mobile and versatile while working on slopes as well as on dirt, gravel, sand or in sticky mud. The Deere 4045TF150 99-horsepower turbocharged engine is located in a new low, mid-mounted compartment, making routine service functions convenient at ground level.

The G Series operator cab is ideal for operators who appreciate 22 percent more room than they had in earlier models. Equipped with a high boom design, the operator also is provided with good visibility from the comfortable new seating module while the new wrap-around instrument panel is convenient for monitoring vital machine functions. To provide protection from falling objects or the unlikely event of a rollover, the Model G9-43A cab also has FOPS/ROPS certification.

The rugged three-section boom can be equipped with a variety of optional attachments including tilt carriages, swing carriages, slope piler carriage, 6-foot vertical mast, truss boom with winch, instant hook, buckets, personnel work platform and more. Attachment changes can be accomplished in just seconds with the newly designed QuickSwitch mechanism.
