Drexel Industries Introduces New Very-Narrow Aisle Turret Truck to North American Markets
HORSHAM, PA, March 2002-Drexel Industries LLC has recently introduced a new operator-down turret truck to North American material handling markets for applications in warehousing and distribution facilities with very-narrow-aisle (VNA) rack storage requirements. The new space-efficient SLT-30-HLT model turret operates in 66-in. (5½-ft.) aisles with either roller or electronic wire guidance.
The SLT-30-HLT is a 3-wheel, 48-volt model with capacity to 2,650 lb. and features General Electric SX transistorized controls with self-diagnostics, hour meter, and battery discharge indicator with lift interrupt when power falls below safe recovery levels. The self-diagnostics feature accelerates service procedures, keeping downtime to a minimum. Overall design is based on Drexel's highly successful SLT line of SwingMast(R) very-narrow-aisle vehicles that operate in aisles as narrow as 4½-ft.
"The new truck will provide us with a more comprehensive capability in the unit load handling field," points out Kim Wanamaker, Drexel's vice president of marketing and sales. The SLT-30-HLT can be configured to each customer's application and comes standard with a high-visibility 3-stage mast, 180-degree traversing turret head, and customary safety features. The vehicle is programmed for automatic slowdown as it approaches an end-of-aisle position.
