Liberty Industries, Inc. Introduces Process Isolation Solutions for Data Centers

Slash energy costs with better air flow dynamics by using AIRBLOCK(TM) Curtain Systems offered by Liberty Industries.

Data center managers across the country are discovering that AirBlock(TM) curtains, strip doors and modular partitions are ideal for use in computer data centers where hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment is important. Hot-aisle/cold-aisle design is a data center best practice where server racks are lined up in alternating rows with cold air intakes all facing one aisle and hot air exhausts facing the other. Cool air is vented into the cold air aisles, directed through the computer racks, and exit the racks into the hot air aisles.

By employing a physical barrier, such as modular partitions, air block curtains and strip doors to separate the hot and cold air aisles, managers can effectively direct the conditioned cold air to where it is needed most in the data center, through the computer racks.

A study by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory finds facilities that use curtains or partitions to physically separate hot and cold air in data centers "can save energy on both air conditioning and fan systems - 15% and 67%, respectively."

Data centers come in several different configurations, all designed to facilitate rack cooling. Hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment solutions are designed to provide optimum isolation of hot and cold air aisles to ensure your data center all the benefits of your cooling efforts.

The specially formulated vinyl and non-vinyl materials include Polysim 509, a low out gassing, static - dissipative polyurethane that meets ASTM and NFPA fire retardancy requirements. AIRBLOCK(TM) hardwall enclosures offer another energy-saving solution for separating hot and cold air aisles. The hardware is designed for easy attachment to existing ceilings so that curtains fall away in the case of a fire, allowing sprinklers full operating range

Liberty Industries provides cleanroom products and design build solutions for many applications and industries including precision manufacturing, pharmaceutical, hospital, optical/fiber optics, foreign, medical devices, laboratories, government, supplies/janitorial, universities, automotive, printed circuit/electronics, aerospace, semiconductor and plastics.
