LG Electronics Introduces LATS CAD 2 Software Reducing VRF Design Time By Up to 80 Percent

First in U.S. Market, Software Transforms HVAC Industry and Offers Seamless Addition to AutoCAD Program

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - LG Electronics USA announced today the debut LATS CAD 2, a software that seamlessly integrates with AutoCAD to allow engineers to lay out and validate LG VRF systems directly into their CAD drawings. This design software arms engineers with the ability to design commercial LG variable refrigerant flow (VRF), multi and single split systems with more accuracy and speed.

LG's LATS CAD 2, the first design software of its kind in the U.S. market, seamlessly integrates with the industry-standard building design program, AutoCAD. By eliminating transitional errors between previously incompatible programs and incorporating system design improvements, AutoCAD and LATS CAD 2 maintain building design integrity between programs, creating a more fluid design process, resulting in a significant reduction in design time and increased accuracy.

"LG is committed to creating innovative solutions for the HVAC industry, and with our new LATS CAD 2 software, we're poised to revolutionize the way VRF systems are laid out and designed," said Brian Bogdan, LG's U.S. Director of Engineering for Air Conditioning Systems. "LG is a pivotal player in VRF innovation, and with this software, we're transforming the design process by dramatically reducing the time it takes to lay out a VRF system."

Additionally, LG's LATS CAD 2 automatically measures pipe segments and calculates refrigerant charge, whereas preceding design software required engineers to manually measure and type pipe lengths by hand - a long and tedious job. This improvement alone cuts down on design time and provides major cost-savings to firms using the program, who can now use design time more efficiently.

LATS CAD 2 includes the same products found in LATS MULTI V™ and adds multi and single split products, allowing the user to design buildings with the LG products they need. Users can easily access the tools they're accustomed to working with and implement them in the new software, creating a more seamless design process. The programs also utilizes AutoCAD's command and operational functions, making LATS CAD 2 intuitive to those familiar with LG's other design programs, enabling users to begin using the software and realizing benefits immediately.

While intuitive, users may want to learn tips and insight on how best to use the software as efficiently as possible. For these needs, LG has created training videos, available online at www.MyLGHVAC.com. More than 300 LG applied engineer representatives are trained on how to use the program, and are ready to provide the software to architects and building designers looking to improve their VRF design productivity.

LG's LATS CAD 2 software is proprietary, free of charge and available now. To begin using the software, please contact an LG Applied Representative for more information at http://www.lg-vrf.com/lg-rep-locator.aspx.
