Lexmark, Copitrak to Offer New Solution to Help Law Offices Improve Productivity, Recover Costs

LEXINGTON, Ky., March 6 - Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE:LXK) recently announced a new solution for law offices that allows them to integrate Copitrak cost recovery applications into Lexmark's laser workgroup multifunction products (MFPs).

Lexmark's award-winning laser workgroup MFPs deliver fast print and copy speeds, as well as high-quality scanning and faxing capabilities, from a single device and feature Lexmark's award-winning eTask touchscreen interface that makes it easy to complete complicated, multi-step processes at the touch of an icon.

Lexmark's MFPs are currently used around the world to help customers print less, move information faster and manage output more efficiently. They can be implemented in a distributed printing environment, which means devices can be strategically located close to end users to further increase productivity.

This new alliance allows law offices to take advantage of Lexmark's workflow solutions while ensuring easy tracking of their paper-based transactions to individual billable accounts. To activate the solution, users simply authenticate themselves and then select the corresponding account on the eTask interface before scanning, copying or faxing a document.

Popular Copitrak functions such as Last Job Recall, which recalls the last 12 billable accounts each user has entered, and Favorites, which details a customized list for each user, can also be accessed from the Lexmark eTask interface to increase productivity.

To help make the solution easy to implement across a wide variety of office environments, Copitrak's solution runs on Lexmark's embedded solutions framework (eSF), which means it is easily scalable to meet the needs of small offices or global enterprises without the expense of additional servers.

"Lexmark and Copitrak are driven by the same principles and operate with like philosophies. We are both focused on bringing high-quality, reliable products and unique industry insight to our customers," said Graham Allen, president, Control Systems Copitrak. "We are excited to further expand Copitrak's products into the distributed printing market through this new partnership and value-added solution."

"By combining Lexmark's proven workflow solutions with Copitrak's cost recovery applications, we can help law offices make sure every hour counts," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division.
