Leviton's Power Base Wins Electrical Contracting Products' 2006 Innovation Awards

Little Neck, NY, November 15, 2006- Leviton's industry-leading OPB15 Power Base Adaptor was chosen last month as a winner of Electrical Contracting Products' 2006 Innovation Awards. The Power Base Adaptor conveniently converts any Leviton low-voltage ceiling-mount occupancy sensor into a self-contained line-voltage unit with a 15 Amp, 120/277V load capacity.

The Innovation Awards recognize outstanding companies who have best responded to the electrical contractors' market challenges by offering creative and innovative products and services. Leviton's Power Base was one of 15 winners chosen by a distinguished panel of electrical contractors from a field of 120 products. Winners were chosen on the basis of the following criteria: innovation, ease-of-use, cost-effectiveness, quality contribution, maintainability and productivity improvements. The awards were presented last month at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Trade Show in Boston. They are showcased in the November issue of Electrical Contracting Products magazine, which reaches over 40,000 medium to large electrical contracting firms each month.

Leviton's Power Base is ideal for occupancy sensor installations in existing facilities where hard ceilings limit access to wiring as well as in new construction where it is not practical to run low-voltage wiring. By adapting low-voltage ceiling-mount occupancy sensors so that they are capable of operating on line-voltage electrical systems, the device enables lighting energy conservation in application environments where installation is complex, costly and time-consuming.
