Leviton Launches em3 Program New Branding Program for Lighting Controls Underscores Commitment to Comprehensive Energy-Efficiency Solutions

Little Neck, NY, September 25, 2006 - Leviton's new em3 energy management branding program for its line of energy-efficient lighting control products and systems underscores the company's commitment to offering cost-effective, easy-to-implement solutions to the problem of rising energy demand and increased energy costs. The program is designed to meet the nation's growing need for environmentally-conscious, energy-saving products and technologies.

"Building on our century-long tradition of providing innovative solutions that are in step with a forever changing marketplace, we are excited to offer this industry-leading program as the benchmark for high-quality, cost-effective lighting energy management solutions," said Tom Leonard, Director of Marketing for Leviton's Lighting Management Systems Division. "Our new em3 program embodies our commitment to offering the vision, technology and solutions that enable Leviton customers to benefit from cost-effective, easy to implement product and services."

The em3 program is based on the company's vision for a sustainable, energy-efficient world based on a combination of products, technologies and solutions. These enable users to reduce energy consumption, save on operating costs and preserve the world's precious resources. The program was introduced at the West Coast Energy Management Conference (WCEM) where experts in all areas of the energy management field joined together this past summer to discuss and promote cost-effective energy management alternatives.

Leviton's line of commercial energy management products includes the industry's widest selection of occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting systems, lighting relays and intelligent dimming systems and controls. The "green," advanced-technology solutions are ideal in new construction and retrofit applications, affording builders, architects, installers, specifiers and end-users an "environmentally-responsible" solution to the problem of soaring energy demand and increasing costs.

"Both commercial and residential users are discovering that lighting control is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to upgrade any physical space, while acting in an environmentally-conscious way. By upgrading lighting with the latest energy-savings systems and controls the ambiance of any commercial room or area can be enhanced, while returning significant energy savings."

"Green" alternatives to switching lights ON and maintaining them at full brightness, such as the use of dimmers, dimming systems and daylight harvesting systems significantly reduce energy consumption. Occupancy sensors, relay and timers can be used to switch lights ON only when a room or area is occupied, thereby eliminating needless energy waste. These alternatives not only reduce electrical energy consumption but also spare light-bulb wear and tear and reduce maintenance and overhead costs."

Leviton's new em3 program integrates a variety of critical success variables, including reduced energy costs, code compliance, brand familiarity, innovative technology, service, reliability, and ease of installation.
